TERMS OF PARTICIPATION

These Terms of Participation apply to the participation of crews in PLUGGED — Show Dance Competition. The organizer and contracting party is AREA UDC Entertainment GmbH, Ritterstraße 5, 47805 Krefeld (full details in the imprint).

The competition's rulebook applies in addition. In the event of conflicts, these Terms of Participation take precedence.

PLUGGED 2026 takes place on 21 November 2026 at Centurium Düsseldorf, Koppersstraße 5, 40549 Düsseldorf.

Junior Team (12–17 years): At least 75% of the team must be between 12 and 17 years old; up to 25% may be 18 years or older. If a crew exceeds this 25%, it competes in the Adult Division instead.

Adult Team (18 years and older): No minimum quota of dancers aged 18 or older — dancers of any age may take part, as long as the entire team list does not meet the 75/25 rule of the Junior Division. If the team list meets this rule, the crew must be registered in the Junior Division.

A crew consists of at least 5 team members. Age is calculated as of the event day (21 November 2026); the organizer may confirm a different cut-off date before the event.

Registration takes place in two stages: a non-binding initial registration on this website, followed by completion in the private Crew Portal (team list, team photo, performance music, props information, payment), which you reach via the personal link sent by email.

The initial registration is non-binding and does not create any obligation to pay. The participation contract is concluded only when the registration fee reaches us within the payment deadline shown in the Crew Portal. If payment is not received on time, we may allocate the starting slot elsewhere; there is then no entitlement to participate.

Each task in the Crew Portal has its own deadline. Late submissions may require approval by the organization team or may be rejected.

The registration fee is €20.00 per team member incl. VAT. It is paid by bank transfer to the account stated in the Crew Portal, using the payment reference displayed there. The amount and payment deadline are shown in the Crew Portal.

If a crew registers additional team members later, the registration fee for them must be paid subsequently. If the team size decreases, the difference is generally not refunded.

Participation in PLUGGED is a service related to a leisure activity that is provided on a fixed date. There is therefore no statutory right of withdrawal (§ 312g Abs. 2 Nr. 9 BGB).

A crew may withdraw from participation at any time. Please notify us of a withdrawal as early as possible by email at events@areaudc.de.

A refund of registration fees already paid is generally excluded in the event of withdrawal. You remain entitled to prove that no damage, or significantly less damage, has been incurred by us as a result of the withdrawal. Exceptions, credits or the transfer of the starting slot to another crew are possible at our discretion.

In the event of disqualification under the rulebook, the registration fee is not refunded.

If we have to cancel the event, we will refund registration fees already paid in full.

If the event is postponed, the registration applies to the new date. Crews that cannot take part on the new date will receive their registration fee back if they notify us within 14 days of the announcement of the new date.

Changes to the schedule or running order on the day of the event (see rulebook) are not a postponement.

The crew warrants that it holds the necessary rights to the submitted team photo and that all persons depicted (in the case of minors, their legal guardians) consent to its use.

We use the team photo and music for the organization and running of the event. We show the team photo on the stage screen during the event, in particular when the crew performs and at the award ceremony. The music is played only during the event.

Photo and video recordings are made at the event, including by photographers commissioned by us. The performances take place in public in front of an audience.

The performances and the award ceremony are broadcast live on the internet (livestream); the recording may remain available online afterwards.

We also use photos and videos of the performances for reporting on PLUGGED and on our website and social media channels. Anyone who does not wish to be recognizably depicted there can notify us in advance by email; we take this into account in the selection and remove published recordings upon being notified. However, performances on stage are always visible in the livestream.

The responsible contact person informs all team members (in the case of minors, their legal guardians) about this.

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence and for damages arising from injury to life, body or health. In cases of slight negligence we are liable only for the breach of essential contractual obligations, limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract. Liability under the German Product Liability Act (Produkthaftungsgesetz) remains unaffected.

For items brought along (e.g. props, costumes, valuables) we are liable only in the case of intent or gross negligence. The crew and its accompanying persons are responsible for supervising minor team members.

The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies. As against consumers, this choice of law applies only insofar as it does not deprive them of the protection of the mandatory provisions of the state in which they have their habitual residence.

If the contracting party is a merchant, a legal entity under public law or a special fund under public law, the place of jurisdiction is Krefeld.

Should any provision be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected.
